Kristen M. Williams is an experimental photographer specializing in lo-fi film techniques and analog aesthetics. A significant contributor to the Lomography Movement, her photos have been shown in a variety of galleries worldwide, featured in physical and digital publications, and licensed to boutique hotels for artwork and murals.
In 2022, Kristen received a North Carolina Artist Support Grant for her project The Body and Sonic Testament, which documents the distinctive physical attributes associated with a musician’s practice and performance. The project is expected to be completed in June 2024.
As a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist, Kristen is known as Merveilleuse. She is currently in the process of recording her second album. Her music is described as darkly romantic, atmospheric yet hook-driven, with a focus on maximizing minimalism. Examples of her work can be found here and here, as well as iTunes and Spotify.
Kristen also provides services as an independent contract consultant in the music industry, specializing in songcraft, critique, and creative problem-solving.
She is based in western North Carolina, USA.
